标题: Optical fiber microstructure devices fabricated with femtosecond laser
摘要: Femtosecond lasers have become a very powerful tool to fabricate micro- or nano- structures in many different materials and waveguides. Femtosecond laser inscription technique can flexibly and directly write a variety of structures such as gratings, interferometers and micro-resonators. Different from UV laser inscription technique, femtosecond laser inscription does not require the materials to have photosensitivity therefore it can be used to fabricate structures in much wider range of materials. We have recently developed several kinds of optical fiber micro-structures devices by femtosecond laser inscription technique. In this talk, we will review our research work on this topic.
简介: Dr Xuewen Shu is currently a professor working at the Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics (WNLO), Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China. Before he joined the WNLO, he spent about 13 years in UK working at Aston University and Indigo Photonics Ltd., as a Senior Research Fellow and a Senior Engineer, respectively. He has published about 300 papers in major international journals and conferences and also holds over 20 US, European and Chinese patents. He serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE Sensors Letters and a TPC member for several international conferences. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Physics. His research interests include fiber gratings, optical fiber communications, fiber lasers and optical sensors. |
